Digital service tickets, without opening your booking system

Your team logs every service, time and price on a digital ticket in Fair Flow. Your booking calendar stays exactly as the front desk set it, and clients know the price before they walk up to pay.

Why salons keep staff out of the booking system

Many salon owners do not give technicians access to their booking software, even when it allows it. In most booking tools, the access that lets a tech add a service also lets them edit appointments. Add a service at the chair and the appointment gets longer, the next clients get pushed, and the calendar no longer matches the day. So salons fall back on paper tickets, and upgrades often reach the front desk without a price the client agreed to. No more paper ticket books: every service is logged on a digital salon service ticket.

Tickets gives your team a place to record their work that is separate from the booking calendar.

What Tickets gives your salon

No booking access needed

Your team logs their work in Fair Flow, so you never have to hand out logins to your booking system.

Your schedule stays put

Adding a service on a ticket does not stretch an appointment or push the next clients later on your booking calendar.

A digital ticket, not paper

Services, times and prices go on one clear ticket in place of the paper slip that gets lost or is hard to read.

Review before it moves on

Staff review the ticket so the services and prices are right before the client reaches the front desk.

Price confirmed in the chair

The tech marks that they told the client the price, so an upgrade never turns into a surprise at checkout.

Clear accountability

When the price was confirmed, it is on the ticket. When it was not, the front desk knows who to ask.

Reopen when needed

Mistakes happen. A ticket can be reopened and corrected instead of rewritten from scratch.

Commission on every ticket

Tickets show what each service and product earns the staff member, based on their service and product commission rates.

Works next to your booking tool

Keep the booking and checkout software you already use. Tickets covers what happens on the floor.

Why owners hesitate to open the booking system

In popular booking tools, the access a tech needs to record their work is usually the same access that lets them change appointments. Here is what each vendor's help docs say.

  • Vagaro: Staff who can modify their own calendar can add, edit and change the status of their appointments. Vagaro notes this can't be limited to only adding or only editing. Source
  • Boulevard: Service Providers can create and edit their own appointments. Editing an appointment's service duration is a separate permission that requires that edit access. Source
  • Booksy: Even the most restricted level, Basic Staffer, books and manages appointments on their own calendar. Source
  • Fresha: Calendar permissions let a team member manage their own appointments or all calendars, and separate Sales permissions cover discounts and refunds. Restricting client access still shows client names. Source
  • Mangomint: Changing an appointment's services or time requires the permission to book and change appointments. Source
  • GlossGenius: Calendar access is View & Edit, View Only or None, so a team member who updates services on their appointments can also edit them. Client access, when on, includes profiles, history and notes. Source
  • Square Appointments: The Service Provider permission set manages its own calendar. With Dashboard access, staff also see the customer list. Source
  • Zenoti: Staff with appointment edit permissions can change add-on services, time slot and provider. Editing the sale price is a separate permission. Source
  • Mindbody: With the “Override appointment type rules” permission, staff can select any pricing option in the appointment's service category. Source
  • Phorest: Access levels set appointment permissions for each staff member. Staff can be limited to seeing only their own column in Phorest Go. Source

How Fair Flow solves it

  • Staff log services, times and prices on a digital ticket, with no access to your booking system.
  • Your booking schedule stays untouched. Nothing on the ticket moves an appointment.
  • The tech confirms the price with the client in the chair, before they reach the front desk.
  • Tickets are reviewed, and can be reopened when something needs a fix.

FAQ

Do my staff need access to our booking system?

No. Your team logs services in Fair Flow Tickets, so you can keep booking access with the front desk and managers. Their changes do not move appointments on your booking calendar.

Does Tickets replace our paper ticket book?

Yes. Tickets gives each service a digital ticket in Fair Flow instead of a paper slip, with the services, times and prices in one place.

How does Tickets help with price surprises at the front desk?

Before the client walks up to pay, the tech marks on the ticket that they told the client the price. Upgrades are priced in the chair, not discovered at the desk, and responsibility stays with the tech who did the service.

Can a ticket be changed after it is submitted?

Yes. A ticket can be reopened when something needs to be corrected.

Is Tickets a booking, POS or payments tool?

No. Fair Flow is not booking, POS, payroll or payments software. Tickets works alongside the booking and checkout tools you already use.

Do tickets show staff commission?

Yes. Each ticket shows what the staff member earns on each service and product, based on their service and product commission rates.

How much does Fair Flow cost?

$99/month for the first location and $79/month for each additional location.
